Due scosse, 35 minuti di pausa tra le due, più di 10.000 i morti, il doppio dicono dei feriti,300.000,un numero che fa tremare,sono le case,scuole,ospedali, monumenti che hanno subito forti danni o rasi al suolo.
Un paese travolto da una scossa magnitudo 7.8,definito uno dei 10 terremoti più violenti della storia,un disastro avvenuto a 81 anni di distanza da un altro catastrofico sisma avvenuto sulla stessa terra,stesso intervallo di tempo trascorso tra due terremoti avvenuti 700 anni fa.
L'epicentro del sisma fu a 80 km a nord-ovest di Kathmandu,la capitale,ad una profondità stimata di 15 km.
La zona è nota per la sua attività sismica ed è considerata una delle regioni a più alto rischio al mondo.L'attività sismica della regione è causata dalla convergenza tra la placca indiana,a sud,e la placca euroasiatica a nord,questa attività ha determinato la formazione della catena dell'Himalaya.
Ho deciso di andare li,in Nepal,pochi mesi dopo il tragico terremoto,una popolazione eccezionale,piena di coraggio e forza,umanità,la speranza negli occhi,i loro,è l'ultima a morire.
