I love photographing families, friends, loved ones and animals because the smallest moments so often become the most precious: a glance between generations, a child’s sudden laugh, a dog’s gloriously unruly personality or the joyful chaos that makes every family entirely its own. My unusual mix of family, commercial, photojournalism and wildlife experience has taught me when to offer calm direction—and when to step back and let real life create the magic.

I’m Sky—a British Government-trained and deployed photojournalist whose work has been commissioned by families, governments, global brands and Fortune 500 companies. My photography has been published internationally, including by Rolling Stone, and I’ve created branded family shoots and joyful pet-party campaigns for 1-800-Flowers. Across more than 800 events and 400 portrait sessions, I’ve learned how to create photographs and films that feel beautifully polished without losing the people inside them.

Beyond the celebrations, I’ve self-driven through Namibia, Botswana, Uganda and South Africa, working alongside wildlife veterinarians, rescue teams, eco-conservancies and lodges. I’ve trekked through forests along the ridge of the Congo Basin to document wild chimpanzees and mountain gorillas, searched Utah and Arizona for wild American mustangs—so far documenting two remarkable family bands—and explored Brazil on a quest to photograph wild jaguars while supporting the Jaguar ID Project, before journeying onward to the iconic white-sand dunes of the country’s north. That patience, anticipation and ability to read animals is perfect preparation for photographing pets as the beloved family members they truly are.
